What is this drug and what is it used for?
Aminoven is an intravenous amino acid solution used to provide essential amino acids for patients who cannot receive adequate nutrition orally or enterally.
How is this drug given?
Aminoven 5% (500 ml glass bottle): 16–20 ml/kg body weight/day (~0.8–1.0 g amino acids/kg/day). Osmolarity: 495 mOsm/L, pH 5.5–6.3. Maximum infusion rate: 1 ml/kg/hour.
