What is this drug and what is it used for?
Propofol 1% 20ml is supplied as a sterile milky-colored emulsion in 20ml ampoule for intravenous use. Propofol 1% 20ml is a short-acting intravenous anesthetic emulsion containing a combination of medium-chain and long-chain triglycerides. It provides faster induction of anesthesia, smoother recovery, and less pain during injection due to rapid drug absorption. It is indicated for the induction and maintenance of general anesthesia in patients over 3 years of age, for sedation and anesthesia in ventilated patients over 16 years of age in the intensive care unit (ICU).
